Dear APS Family,
During late 2025 and early 2026, the American Punjabi Society (APS) and the wider New York Sangat welcomed Hon’ble Dr. Davinder Singh Ji, President of The Kalgidhar Trust (Baru Sahib). This tour was not merely a series of events but a profound movement titled “Mission Reboot Punjab,” aimed at fostering global peace and rural empowerment.
A Vision for a Drug-Free and Educated Punjab
Dr. Davinder Singh Ji, a medical professional turned humanitarian leader, traveled across six major U.S. cities—including a significant stop in New York—to share the vision of his mentor, Sant Baba Iqbal Singh Ji.
The core message of the 2025 tour focused on:
- Value-Based Education: Highlighting the impact of nearly 100 Akal Academies that provide holistic, spiritual, and modern education to underserved children in rural India.
- A Drug-Free Society: Promoting the success of the Akal De-Addiction Centres, which focus on the rehabilitation and reintegration of patients through skill-building.
- Global Peace: Addressing challenges like global unrest through the lens of Gurbani and Gurmat principles.
- Strengthening the Bond with APS New York
The New York leg of the tour saw powerful interactions with community leaders and the American Punjabi Society. Notable sessions were held at Gurdwara Mata Sahib Kaur in Glen Cove and shared via JUS Punjabi TV.
The presence of dignitaries like Sant Singh Chatwal and the leadership of APS, including President Gary Sikka, Patron Harry Singh Bholla ji underscored the society’s commitment to supporting the Kalgidhar Trust’s “Educate to Save” initiative. This collaboration reinforces the APS mission to unite the diaspora for the social and spiritual upliftment of our roots in Punjab
